Curated by Sugarbag Festival, Queerly Beloved returns in 2025 for another moving and memorable evening of storytelling and performance.
Set in the intimate surrounds of Browns Mart Theatre, this special night invites members of Darwin’s LGBTQIASB+ community to take the stage and share personal stories of love, life, identity, and connection in the NT.
Hosted by ABC presenter and local legend Lisa Pellegrino, this year’s event brings together an inspiring mix of voices:
Sally Sievers – Longtime NT Anti-Discrimination Commissioner and tireless advocate for equality and inclusion. Sally brings clarity, insight and deep care to every space she enters.
Theeradet Suphannabutt – A Thai-born Darwin local and proud trans woman, Theeradet is an emerging leader and advocate with a sharp sense of humour and an even sharper sense of style.
Ira Racines – A Filipino-Australian creative, community connector, and champion for cultural safety and queer visibility across the Top End.
Mahogany Love – Performer, writer and truth-teller, Mahogany blends drag artistry with spoken word and personal experience in a powerful, magnetic presence.
Half-time entertainment:
The unstoppable Mac Studfinder will take the stage with their signature blend of circus, drag and satire—queering the blueprint and reminding us that joy is the ultimate protest.
This is one of Sugarbag’s most cherished nights — raw, real, and full of heart. Come laugh, cry, cheer and feel the power of story.
